What made me smile?

A baby in his pram was shaking furiously at his rattle and staring at it. I stood there looking at him, amused by his fervour. Suddenly he turned to look at me and gave me a wide grin. It made me laugh, as it looked as if we were sharing our secret joke.

Hear hear.........

The most insincere apology is one that expects to be forgiven.

Weekend Fun in Singapore - Qian Hu Fish Farm

Fishes Galore!!!!

This is one of our favorite fish farms, and we haven’t visited it for ages due to its location being far from where we stay. Luckily for the kids, we happen to be near there last Sunday and decided to drop by.

Address: 71, Jalan Lekar, Sungei Tengah, Singapore 698950. The farm's mascot is this big fish right above the sign board. Hmmmm..... the mascot seems to be in need of cleaning....

We drove our own car there, but I noticed the farm provided shuttle service.

Shuttle service provided and what the shuttle bus looks like.

Make your way in to fishes galore!!!

We headed off to the area which attracted a lot of kids.

Fish feeding pond
Fish feed can be purchased at SGD 1.00 per small pack to feed the colorful koi

See what happens when you drop only a few pellets of feed. Feeding frenzy!!!! Then be mermerized by the frenzy, like these 2 kids.

The fish farm has thoughtfully added kiddy rides for toddlers who are not old enough to fish on their own yet.

Longkang fishing area
Children will scream excitedly when they finally catch a small guppy to bring home. The net and a small plastic aquarium tank are to be purchased at the counter before carrying out the fishing.

We then hung out at a little cafeteria to sit and rest and also have an ice-cream to cool off the heat!

We walked around the farm leisurely. Luckily the weather wasn’t all that hot, just a little humid.

Prawning area

 We didn’t carry out any prawning as we are not one of the patient ones.

Information boards – reading about fishes and the farm.

Information and photos on the company’s history.
The owner Mr Kenny Yap is very well known. He is always seen posing with a wide smile.

Aquatic plants for sale - the plants look so beautiful under the lighting in the tanks. It's easy to feel like you're under the ocean with them when you go closer to them. Look at the lotus - doesn't it give you a sense of calm and serenity?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rows and rows and rows of fishes galore!!!!
You can’t help but by awed by how colorful these fishes are. It’s almost like walking inside a fish museum!
The colorful luohan fish which seemed to be dancing when it saw my camera, I had to take a few tries before I could capturing all of its colors.
A small fish playing peekaboo with my camera – doesn’t it look shy?
Terrapins which attracted children to squat around them excitedly. Luckily there was a sign above it that said not to touch them.
Colorful fishes all available for sale. Even in captivity, they swim around the tank full of life!
 Is it just me or Mr Stingray looks comical to me from this view........ ?
At the end of the visit, happy, sticky hot and tired, and I thought of our niece Bibi who is preparing hard for her exams in Malaysia. Don’t worry, Bibi, we will definitely bring you here to run amok with your cousins and the many beautiful fishes!!!
