Dining out @ Herbivore @ Bugis

The least excited mum tore herself away from the easily excited family to meet up with her good friends. We ladies regard one another as sisters and we have known one another and even one another's family since school days.

Thanks to Dawn, we are trying out this Japanese vegetarian restaurant as Zen is temporarily closed.

Our verdict of the place -
Nice, classy, reservations needed as the place is not that big. I would definitely look forward to going back again!

2012 Mid-Autumn Festival Bounty

This year's collection - the bags just get prettier each year!

01 October 2012

The most memorable children's day for the easily excited adult-to-be. He had made some bet with the easily excited dad and so this is the reward he has spent 2 months waiting - crashing in with us for one night.

Weekend Fun in Singapore - Close Encounter with Animals

We happen to drive pass while looking for the mushroom farm. There was a bored-looking horse looking at us driving pass which caught our attention.

The Animal Resort
Address: T81 Seletar West Farmway 5, Singapore 798061
This resort is for animals, not humans, although humans are known to behave like animals under the influence of alcohol and coffee overdose....

This pair of birds greeted us at the entrance when we walked in after parking our car. The stench of animal manure greeted us as well, but being townsfolk who only managed to see animals, well... at least live ones, in the zoo.... we were pretty much excited

These geeses got us pretty much excited too.

They were just roaming in the resort, wondering what's all the fuss about eating out of people's hands.
A small fountain with fishes adds a touch of beauty to the place.

In the cages, there are peacocks, chickens and a red spotted hissing duck which my dear boy was convinced that it has contracted some duck disease until he saw several others of the same species

This kid is totally not afraid of feeding the animals.... either not afraid or oblivious to fear....

Then while we were wondering how does this boring place survive, when 2 of these cranes come flying out of nowhere from the sky and landed gracefully infront of us.

These cranes showed no fear towards the human race and so trustingly hung out with the kid with bird feed.

And as we can see, they do not stand on ceremony with anyone with bird feed in their hands.

A close up of the "diseased" duck

If the cranes are just too much for you, there are rabbits and guinea pigs which live together in a shack.

Did you see the incredible hulk of a rabbit over there????

You can buy food for all of the animals from the owner and children will enjoy feeding the rabbits who are enthusiastic about the carrots.

You know what they say about birds of the same feather....

It looks like it's testing out the water, doesn't it?

Colorful parrots.

These 2 reminds me of my favourite 2 radio deejays on a certain morning show....

The horse that looks bored and can't be bothered by the visitors.

The parrot that goes "AHHH---LLLOOOO!!!" every few minutes, even when we said bye to it....

Her last goodbye gift as we holler for her to get in the car....

As always with our outings to farms and parks and animal resorts, we could not bear to leave the animals but we still say our sweaty and sticky goodbyes. This would be a nice place to visit after going to the mushroom farm.

My Jogging Spots

There are a few jogging spots which I frequent, and I try to find as many different spots I can, so that jogging becomes more interesting.

This is my very first jogging spot.

I usually go to during weekends. I used to like this spot because I can just stare along the canal as I jog and not be put off by the distance, or when I do my stretching facing the trees which can be quite destressing. However, I seldom jog here anymore as it's getting more and more crowded with children cycling and people walking their pets here.

This is my routine jogging spot.
Actually it is hardly a spot, as the trail circles around the college near my house. There are several joggers using this trail, we just go round and round the college aimlessly. Boring as it may be, it is my favourite spot which I have no idea why. I finish off with the warm down at the exercise park.

This is a new jogging spot I accidentally discovered.

I was on my way to the stadium to jog after dropping the kids at the pool when I saw a few joggers heading off in the same direction. Following them, I encountered this very nice spot. It is a park actually and so the jogging trails are sheltered by trees. It can be quite pleasant under the shade. There are butterflies fluttering around as there are some fruit trees and flowery shrubs in the park. There is also a playground where you can hear children playing as you jog. The jogging trails go up- and down-slope, so there is some intensity added to your jog. Then there is a small exercise park incorporated where you can end your workout. Nice place, but too bad I can only go during the weekends when I send the kids for their swimming class.
